What is Beta Carotene Powder
Beta carotene powder (C40H56) is one of the carotenoids, an orange-yellow fat-soluble compound, which is the most ubiquitous and stable natural pigment in nature. A member of the family of natural chemicals such as carotenes or carotenoids. It is found in abundance in plants, giving fruits and vegetables their rich yellows and oranges. The pure product is a reddish purple to dark red crystalline powder with a slight peculiar odor. The dilute solution of β-carotene is orange-yellow and easily soluble in organic solvents such as dichloromethane, chloroform and carbon disulfide. When the concentration of the solution increases, it will be orange, and it may be slightly red due to the polarity of the solvent. It is unstable in the presence of oxygen, heat and light. It is more stable in weak bases.
Beta carotene powder (or ß-Carotene) is an excellent skin care ingredient, serving as an antioxidant and precursor to vitamin A, thus is frequently referred to as provitamin A. It's a wonderful skin conditioning ingredient and is also used as a cosmetic colorant.

SLBIO beta carotene 1% contains a blend of beta carotene 8% with a maltodextrin carrier. Maltodextrin is a mildly sweet polysaccharide that prevents clumping. Other ingredients include dextrin, modified starch, plant gelatin, sucrose, vitamin E (as dl alpha tocopherol), and Vitamin C. beta carotene 1% powder is soluble in water.
